Based in Cape Town, GFA Climate & Infrastructure (Pty) Limited is part of the Climate and Energy Cluster within the GFA Consulting Group with a geographic focus on southern Africa, GFA has been active in the southern African region for more than 20 years. Based on the past successes and the increasing sustainable energy opportunities in the region, GFA has opened a subsidiary to focus on climate consultancy services with the added dimension of advising on climate finance. GFA Climate & Infrastructure has a well-established network in the region that extends to providers of private and concessional funding, from local and international DFIs and multi-lateral agencies, government and private sector funders as well as export credit agencies.
GFA Climate & Infrastructure builds upon the more than 35-years of experience within GFA Consulting Group as a whole and in particular, in the sustainable climate and energy sector for almost 20 years, which is relevant considering over 90% of the southern African’s energy still comes from fossil fuels. GFA Climate & Infrastructure focuses mostly on advisory services to climate related infrastructure projects and programs, which include sustainable energy and energy efficiency as well as water and waste management. Our consultancy services extend to financial, technical and impact feasibility studies, policy advice and sector studies for both, private and public sector clients across all 16 SADC countries. In terms of financial feasibility, infrastructure related funding structures and sources of funding are a particular strength in our advisory mandate.
